About me
Like everyone, I have been shaped by my life experiences...the challenges and the
opportunities. Through my own therapy work, I have more self-awareness and
a greater appreciation for the resiliency of the human spirit. I respect the healing and growth that can be the result of adversity. I honor the courage, vulnerability, and time it takes for that healing and growth to take place.
My work as a therapist is shaped by both my life and work experiences. I have
seen the joy of new life and the grief of death, chronic illness, addiction, and
trauma, both physical and psychological.
As a wife and mother in a blended family, I have experienced the strength and
the fragility of family. These early relationships and experiences in our families
greatly impact how we view and react to the world.
I received a nursing degree from the University of Presbyterian Hospital, School of Nursing, Pittsburgh, PA., a BA in Education from the University of Indiana, Indiana, PA and a MA in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA.
I am a firm believer in the importance of loving kindness and compassion for
oneself, as well as others. I genuinely love what I do. I consider the journey I
travel with my clients both a joy and a privilege.
